Personal Development at LDSM

At Long Ditton St Mary's, personal development is at the heart of school life. We want every child to leave LDSM as a confident, respectful, responsible and compassionate young person, equipped with the knowledge, skills and experiences they need for the next stage of their education and life beyond school.

Our Personal Development provision extends far beyond individual lessons. It is developed through our curriculum, PSHE, Christian vision and values, spirituality, pupil leadership, sport, enrichment, clubs, trips, residential experiences, community partnerships, charitable work and the many opportunities pupils have to contribute to school life.

We deliberately create opportunities for children to develop their character, confidence, resilience, independence and leadership, while learning to understand themselves, respect others and contribute positively to their community and the wider world.

Every child should be able to access and benefit from these opportunities. We continually listen to pupils and consider the impact of our provision so that Personal Development at LDSM responds to the needs, interests and experiences of our children.
