Volunteering

The contribution that our volunteers are able to make to school life makes a huge difference to the children.

Volunteers may be able to help with a variety of tasks e.g. reading, ICT, library duties, art, cookery,  practising times-tables, gardening, sewing, craft activities, lunchtime support, occasional one-off projects etc and working with individuals and small groups of children. In addition, volunteers may also help on educational visits, offering to support the work of The Friends or being prepared to speak to groups of children about their experiences or careers or using work-based skills and knowledge to support the school e.g. website or IT advice and development.

If you would like to volunteer in school for one of these areas, the docment below explains key guidelines and procedures for becoming a volunteer, including whether you will need a DBS check and what type you will need.

Please speak to a member of the office team if you have any queries about the pack, or about becoming a volunteer.
